UniGroup Inc., the parent company of Mayflower Van Lines and United Van Lines, held its annual shareholders meeting at the Chase Park Plaza hotel in St. Louis last week. GMP provided staging, audiovisual, and creative support for the 4 day event. This was GMP’s first time to work with UniGroup and its international sister company UniGroup Worldwide UTS. The meeting theme celebrated the company’s long history and legacy of outstanding service and quality in the transportation industry. The stage set featured our Shogi screens fitted with a collection of oversized images taken from the UniGroup archives. The set looked fantastic! It was a great week, and we are proud to have been a part of this important milestone in UniGroup’s history!

The Red Shoe Party
GMP was honored to be a part of Casa Nashville's Red Shoe Party at the Pinnacle Building last weekend. The event supports the efforts of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), which recruit and train community volunteers for children who... come before the court due to abuse and neglect. CASA is a great organization, with amazing volunteers, generous sponsors and donors, visionary co-chairs and board members, and staff leaders with a true heart for kids. We are looking forward to the opportunity next year.

ACM Awards 2012 Red Carpet Show
GMP Producer Bert Hensley was once again charged with overseeing the design and scenic production of the Red Carpet for the 47th ACM Awards at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Working with the Gary Musick Scenic graphic design and construction teams, a concept of purple Step & Repeat banners with gold planter boxes featuring fresh greenery and red flowers, along with 8ft tall 3-D ACM Awards statuettes cover over 250 feet of red carpet. With media from around the world on hand to cover the event, which was broadcast live on GAC, the red carpet became the place to see and be seen. In addition to all the expected country music superstars who were nominated, surprise appearances were made by a diverse mix of music personalities and other celebrities, including KISS and "Papa John". The Academy of Country Music was thrilled with the success of this year's Red Carpet and GMP is grateful for the opportunity to oversee such a high profile event.

BlissDom 2012
GMP Producer Bert Hensley recently worked with BlissDom Events to provide sponsorship activation services for exhibitors and sponsors at the Social Media/Blogging conference held at Nashville’s Gaylord Opryland Hotel February 23-25, 2012.
The conference attracts 700 bloggers, social, and traditional media experts, as well as national brands that want to engage with these trend-makers and their followers/subscribers.
In addition, we designed and provided décor for three large conference-wide parties. As a promotion for the new Dr. Seuss movie, The Lorax, GMP worked with Universal Pictures to produce a Lorax themed reception, which was the kick-off of opening night. The evening party was Girls Night Out, as we transformed the ballroom into a rocking nightclub, and featured concert performances by Joe Jonas and Rascal Flatts. The next night was Girls Night In, a relaxing evening among friends with the highlight being a private screening from Oprah Winfrey and OWN Network of the premier episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter featuring Paula Deen.
The conference attracts 700 bloggers, social, and traditional media experts, as well as national brands that want to engage with these trend-makers and their followers/subscribers.
We worked with the corporate and brand sponsors to create a series of interactive suites, ranging from a retro 1950s inspired kitchen, to a photo gallery highlighting the philanthropic work of one of the world’s largest brands. We were fortunate enough to work with such esteemed brands as Johnson & Johnson, California Raisins, SC Johnson Glade, V8, Ebates.com, V05, Extra Space Storage and One2One Network, as well as their marketing and advertising agencies.
We are really looking forward to BlissDom 2013!

Emdeon National Sales Meeting 2012
When the meeting planners at Emdeon met with us to discuss their annual sales conference for 2012, they wanted to do something different. Sales meetings are sales meetings, so how exciting can they ever be, right? “We bring employees to this conference from all over the country and we wanted to give them a boost; something to set the energy bar high for the rest of the week," said Katie Rogers, Emdeon Certified Meeting Planner. So when we proposed the idea of a Flash Mob dance during the conference, the marketing team jumped at the chance.
Using Emdeon’s own employees as the dancers, all was kept in secret. With the conference theme, "Waves of Change", in mind, the Gary Musick team selected songs and movements for the dance that anyone could learn, regardless of age or previous dance experience. We filmed the choreographer teaching the dance in several segments so that it could be emailed out to all the dance participants to learn on their own. There were a couple of rehearsals scheduled for in-town employees, and then a major dress rehearsal the day of the conference in the hotel ballroom.

With few of the executives in on the secret, the Emdeon Flash Mob Dance kicked off the general sessions in a big way. Not only did it achieve the goal of increased energy, but also it gave the dance participants a sense of ownership in the weeks leading up to the conference, and gave the rest of the conference attendees something to talk about for the rest of the week and at the water cooler back at their home office.
