FERRY TERMINAL BUILDING - San Francisco

This has been a busy week of travel and site visits for all of us at the Gary Musick Company. Bert Hensley, David Patton and I attended the SEATRADE show in Miami. This is one of the largest trade shows especially for the cruise ship industry. Every imaginable type of vendor to the cruise ship world was there - ship engines, furniture, computer systems, carpeting, food, sound systems, glass installers, video systems, security systems, water treatment, and of course, entertainment. We had a booth at the show and were the only entertainment production company at the show. We met several interesting people, including friends from Celebrity Cruises and our old friend Manfred Ursprunger from Celebrity and NCL. It was amazing to see how huge the cruise industry really is. Especially interesting were the fantastic booths from countries and ports all over the world vying for cruise ship business. It was encouraging to see how many ships are in construction, on order, or about to be renovated. And the good news is they all need entertainment!

After spending 2 days in Miami, I traveled to San Francisco to meet with my clients from the National Association of Electrical Distributors. Jonathan Yeaworth was there to help. We are producing the NAED national convention there in May. We're producing a Kenny Loggins concert on the opening night, followed by "Foreigner" on the next night. We had a chance to visit the new Ferry Terminal shopping and dining complex for lunch on Thursday - it is a very cool place! I got home last night and spent most of the night tossing and turning trying to get over the jet lag from all the time zones I was in this week. And, Nashville had strong thunderstorms all night, so our dog completely freaked out! Anyone know where to get some doggie downers?
