Sunday, September 30

The new "WORLD BEAT" show aboard the Norwegian GEM opened last night for the owers of the Meyer ship building company in Germany. The shipyard hosted about 900 guests on the GEM for a fabulous dinner and the premier performance of our show. It was a magical evening, and "World Beat" was phenominal. The guests jumped to their feet for a standing ovation at the end of the show, and the feedback was extraordinary. A huge thanks and congratulations go to the cast, crew, band, GMC staff, and the NCL production team who worked so diligently to make the show a success. I can't upload pictures from here onboard the ship, but I will post some shots once we're in port again.

One show down, two to go!

Tonight I helped judge auditions for Belmont University's Commercial Music Showcase. There were 48 students auditioning for a chance to perform an extended concert before some of the music industry's most influential agents, producers, managers, and record label executives. There were some amazingly talented performers! 10 of them will be chosen for callbacks tomorrow night, with 4 finalists to be selected for the actual showcase. Best of luck to all of them!

Here are more photos of the CONSTELLATION cast taken during rehearsals last Saturday. They are another great cast, and everyone is working incredibly hard!

I usually get in trouble when I give too much family info on the blog, but I think this is worth mentioning...my oldest daughter - Mary Catherine - got engaged last weekend! Her fiance is Ben Brown, the guitarist for a new rock band called "American Bang". They have been planning this marriage for a long time, so it was really no surprise, but now it is official! The wedding will probably be next October (2008) because the band is about to release their first CD on Warner Brothers Records. They will be touring for the next year to support the record. They also are now featured on Verizon's current commercial campaign for a brand new model of cell phone coming out this week. The band is off to a great and exciting start! All our best to MC and Ben - we love you both!

I just wanted to pause for a moment to thank all of you who sent birthday greetings today. I really appreciate hearing from so many of you. The power of FACEBOOK is pretty amazing. So many of our performers sent messages from all over the world today...a big "thanks" goes out to all of my friends and associates.

Also, Jim Sheridan and I had a great lunch today with Jennifer Pippin, my assistant. She has been out recovering from some surgery, so it was wonderful to see her happy and smiling and feeling good. She is a blast to be around, and we are all looking forward to having her back full time really soon!

I wish everyone could have friends like mine!

One of my favorite clients is the National Association of Electrical Distributors. They are a great association and terrific people, and we do several shows and projects each year for them. Jonathan Yeaworth and I spent the last few days in Fargo, ND, with my client contact, Sonia Coleman, shooting video footage and interviews with NAED's new Chairman, Tammy Miller. I love hearing the accents of the locals in Fargo, "don't cha know",...especially in the diners and bars where the "Fargoians" hang out. It was like watching the movie "Fargo" all over again! Here are a couple of production shots from the video shoot.

This is Jonathan Yeaworth, our staff production manager who shot the video.

Here is Tammy Miller (behind the desk) and Sonia Coleman, NAED's director of Public Relations.

PHOTOS FROM CELEBRITY's "GTS CONSTELLATION"
Today was the first time I got to see the new cast of CELEBRITY's CONSTELLATION in a complete run through of one of their shows. They have really gelled in the last week, and are going to be a fantastic cast! It was especially great to see how strong they are in both vocals and dance, and how they complement each other's capabilities and performances. These shots are of "Celebrate the World".

Jonathan Yeaworth and I are in Fargo, ND, for the next three days shooting a video for an association client - the National Association of Electrical Distributors. This place is FLAT! But the people are really nice. Anyone ever been to Fargo?

We are working on several casting challenges back at the office in Nashville. Garris, Stephen, Dale, David, and Mindy are working hard to finish up casting ships for this fall, in addition to covering some spots that recently came open unexpectedly. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers - its been an interesting week, to say the least!

Here are some more pics from the Infinity rehearsal yesterday. Great cast!

We were treated to a couple of runthroughs by the INFINITY cast today. They did a fantastic job with their shows! It is fun and gratifying to see how casts come together as a cohesive unit during their time in Nashville. They will be fine tuning all three shows and "bumpers" during the next three days. We wish them all the best! Here are some pictures taken during the runs.

The SUMMIT cast had their farewell dinner a few nights ago. Here is a parting shot of the cast taken just before they shipped off for a 6-month contract. Congratulations to the cast on a great rehearsal period here in Nashville! They are now in Alaska getting the shows ready to go for their first full performance cruise next week.
