Emdeon National Sales Meeting 2012
When the meeting planners at Emdeon met with us to discuss their annual sales conference for 2012, they wanted to do something different. Sales meetings are sales meetings, so how exciting can they ever be, right? “We bring employees to this conference from all over the country and we wanted to give them a boost; something to set the energy bar high for the rest of the week," said Katie Rogers, Emdeon Certified Meeting Planner. So when we proposed the idea of a Flash Mob dance during the conference, the marketing team jumped at the chance.
Using Emdeon’s own employees as the dancers, all was kept in secret. With the conference theme, "Waves of Change", in mind, the Gary Musick team selected songs and movements for the dance that anyone could learn, regardless of age or previous dance experience. We filmed the choreographer teaching the dance in several segments so that it could be emailed out to all the dance participants to learn on their own. There were a couple of rehearsals scheduled for in-town employees, and then a major dress rehearsal the day of the conference in the hotel ballroom.

With few of the executives in on the secret, the Emdeon Flash Mob Dance kicked off the general sessions in a big way. Not only did it achieve the goal of increased energy, but also it gave the dance participants a sense of ownership in the weeks leading up to the conference, and gave the rest of the conference attendees something to talk about for the rest of the week and at the water cooler back at their home office.

Hallmark District Manager's Conference
GMP was pleased to recently provide staging support for a Hallmark Cards District Manager’s Conference in Kansas City. Thanks to Hallmark’s Jeff Anderson for allowing GMP to be part of the production for the meeting! Eric Cardwell was our GMP on site set-up supervisor. Hallmark is planning to re-use the set again in a different configuration for a meeting in April.

Nashville Heart Ball 2012
The Heart Ball is a philanthropic event that provides funding for research and programs for The American Heart Association. GMP has been honored to produce the spectacular gala event each year for the past decade. The gala, hosting a silent and live auction, brought more than 500 attendees to Loews Vanderbilt Plaza. Featured guests included Danny Gokey (American Idol finalist), Nashville singer/songwriter Joe West, and dance music by Burning Las Vegas. It was a great evening that raised thousands of dollars towards cardiovascular disease and stroke research. We are looking forward to next year’s gala in February at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center.

GMP Snowbirds Head South
Gary Musick and the GMP team just wrapped up back-to-back shows in Florida for two different clients. The first program was spent at the fabulous Marco Island Marriot Resort and Spa where we produced general sessions and two awards banquets recognizing the company’s top sales people. Marco Island is a perfect spot for an incentive trip, and if you haven’t been there, we highly recommend it. It’s a beautiful place on Florida’s Gulf Coast just minutes away from Naples!
The next stop was Orlando’s Omni Champions Gate Resort for the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED)'s South Central Region Conference. GMP provided staging and production for the general session. It was our 4th time to work with NAED in the past year, and we look forward to working with the group again at their upcoming 2012 National Leadership Summit in Washington.
Dewey Bozella |
Pictured is keynote speaker, boxer Dewey Bozella, who spent 26 years wrongfully incarcerated for a crime he did not commit. Bozella maintained his innocence and, with determination, new evidence was uncovered that led to his release from prison in October of 2009. Today, Bozella is fulfilling his dream of working with kids through The Dewey Bozella Foundation. Through boxing, Dewey and the Foundation hope to teach kids discipline and hard work, follow their dreams and, most importantly, never give up.

Great American Opportunities
Bert Hensley, Chris Lyle, and the GMP team were happy to be reunited with long time client Great American Opportunities for two recent events here in Nashville. Each event featured our music city prop collection in a tradeshow/display environment. Keith Brogdon created custom graphics designed around their theme “The Rhythm of the Future: A Grand Ole Opportunity.” Great American Opportunities provides fundraising opportunities for school and church groups, civic clubs, and other charitable organizations.
