NAED Eastern Region Conference 2012

The GMP team headed south to Hollywood, Florida last week to produce the National Association of Electrical Distributors Eastern Region Conference. The meeting was held at the Westin Diplomat and included an opening general session
featuring Fox News correspondent Kirsten Powers. We had a great show, although our Jonathan Yeaworth had to spend the night in the hospital following load out. We were worried about him for awhile, but he's home now recovering and doing much better. Thanks to Tom, Becky, Karen, Lesley, and the staff of the Westin for taking such good care of us!

GMP on the Road in Las Vegas

The GMP team recently hit the road to Las Vegas to produce a major year-end conference for one of our clients. The 3-day program was held at the Bellagio Hotel and Resort and featured several general sessions geared toward the organization's conference theme of "Best in Class". Our clients included California-based "Blueink Writing" and "Travel Dynamic Group". GMP team members Gary Musick, Jonathan Yeaworth, Chris Lyle, Jacob Driver, Rob Dicken, Brandon Thomas, Sean Yeaworth and Johnny Jones provided direction, audio, lighting, and video support for the main tent events. This was our second time to work with this client and the program came off without a hitch! Congratulations to the entire creative and production team for another successful road show!

The General Session staging incorporated three AV screens for graphics, video rolls, and live image magnification. Special lighting effects were used to complement the style of the conference logo.

The opening night reception featured a Cirque theme and incorporated a number of amazing acts from the Las Vegas area. Aerialists, stilt walkers, contortionists, and strength and balancing acts performed throughout the evening. It was very cool!

GMP provided decor throughout the reception that included 17 private cabana seating areas. Each cabana was themed in a different color and included pillows and candy-based centerpieces in matching hues.

BUSINESS MEETINGS WITH A COMFORTABLE TWIST

Last week I was in Boston helping produce a new product introduction for one of our clients. Our goal was to create a comfortable, engaging, and innovative environment that would facilitate interaction between the client and their customers. The solution was to create an intimate lounge type setting using contemporary couches with fleece throws, leather lounge chairs, and leather and chrome bar-stools at bistro tables. We also used our sogi screens to help define the space and offer a projection palette for lighting. We also used a 3-screen video format with a center 16' x 9' projection screen for eye-candy and speaker support slides. It was an awesome look and a huge hit with the attendees. As usual, the big question is...what do we do next time to top that?! - Gary

The meeting incorporated seating for approximately 130 attendees at a combination of seating styles.

Three rear projection screens created a highly effective media presentation using a combination of Keynote presentations, videos, and animated backgrounds.

NEW AV SCREEN WRAP AND THEME CONCEPT FOR BUSINESS MEETINGS

NEW AV SCREEN WRAP AND THEME CONCEPT
FOR BUSINESS MEETINGS

We recently produced a meeting for a client in Dallas who wanted a high tech themed awards show that would appeal to a decidedly younger audience. The solution? We created a 9' x 16' AV screen wrap that looked exactly like the face of a "touch screen" phone. The AV wrap is designed for use with new high definition 16:9 format video projectors. The screen wrap was AWESOME looking, but the best part was the AV package we designed to go with it. The background for the slides looked like the apps used on today's touch-screen smart phones. Each app icon represented a different speaker or award segment in the show. As the speaker or award was introduced, the app would launch, turn full screen, then reveal a title graphic or series of speaker support slides. The graphics looked fantastic, and the animations and sound effects were so close to a real touch screen phone it was scary! This screen wrap is now available for use at meetings, along with a customizable AV package that can be tailored with graphics designed specifically for our client's use. This staging and AV package is visually stunning, and works well for any application where cutting edge and high tech looks are desired. A big thanks goes to our scenic, AV, and graphics team!

Simple is Good

SIMPLE IS GOOD

Tight budgets for business meetings are the norm these days. But that doesn't mean you have to settle for a ho-hum general session. Here are several stages we've done in the past few months that offered a theme appropriate stage set at very reasonable costs. Each of these sets incorporates audiovisual screens, simple sets and lighting effects that perfectly compliment smaller meeting budgets. If you'd like to learn more about our wide variety of business meeting production services and stage sets, contact one of our producers at 615-259-2400. We'll be happy to show you how "simple" can be a good thing!

Showtime In Minneapolis

SHOWTIME IN MINNEAPOLIS

The GMP team recently spent a week in Minneapolis producing the 2009 INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION FORUM AND ANNUAL MEETING for the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS. We've worked with IAAP for a number of years, and enjoy spending a week each July with planner Inge Hafkemeyer and the great IAAP staff. This year, the opening night reception featured a State Fair theme party, while the evening of entertainment included a fantastic performance by CIRQUE VOILA. The attendees really loved the awesome aerial acrobatic work and hilarious comedy performed by the troupe of internationally renowned cirque artists. The week was packed with business sessions, keynote speakers, educational sessions, and a trade show featuring the latest in office technology and services for today's administrative professional. Congratulations to IAAP for another successful year!

Corporate Business Sets

One of the things we specialize in at the Gary Musick Company is producing corporate events. We handle everything from stage sets, lighting and sound... to entertainment, program content and overall event planning. We are a "one-stop shop"!

We have worked with major corporate clients doing very large sets and entertainment by major artists or original production shows. However, we also work on much smaller scales doing business sets for companies in local hotels.

We have over $1,000,000 worth of props and scenic inventory in our warehouses. Call us for rental prices or custom work!

Pictured below are just a few examples of some of the business sets we have produced and constructed...both large and small.

Our "Music City" pieces create a wonderful vibe for corporate award shows.

Spandex covered panels with a little back lighting are a simple way to create a nice set for a smaller business meeting or banquet.

Pictured above is the set for the nationally televised Dove Awards.

Our scenic staff constructed this great store front for a convention for O'Charley's employees.

These spandex "transformits" are a simple way to give your business meeting that extra punch.

The set pictured above is the Chicago skyline.

Often, one of the best ways to create a theme is to have an entry way that draws interest.

The 3 pictures above are from a recent convention at a local hotel produced scenically by Brandon Scott Thomas. IEBA (International Entertainment Buyers Association) has a large event in Nashville each year. Though the ballroom isn't that large, we were able to create a very different feel for their artist showcase and banquet. Check out their website at... http://www.ieba.org
We are afforded the wonderful opportunity to meet some incredible people along the way. The great part about what we do is...we not only get to help them create an event they can be proud of, but we develop friendships and learn a lot from our clients too!
