Lighting IS everything! Today, we finished working with Louisville-based Axxis, Inc. on a major national convention for one of the world's largest retailers. The Gary Musick Company provided the stage sets and Axxis produced the overall show. Our set was designed to give their lighting director endless options by incorporating a variety of projection surfaces and shapes into the design. The center panel of the set tracked on an off stage to allow a huge rolling band platform to come through the set. This rolling stage featured surprise appearances during the meetings by a variety of some of country music's biggest acts. Each band loaded onto the rolling platform backstage while the meeting was underway, then tracked onto stage on cue to perform. Additional stationary riser platforms flanked each side of the mainstage, and were built to allow lighting to be added beneath the risers. The flexibility in the lighting and video projection were virtually endless. It was a beautiful set that looked stunning under lights.
